Say “goodbye” to incontinence - with our new treatment Emsella.
Emsella is a relatively recent advance in the treatment of Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI).
SUI is the involuntary leakage of urine occurring when pressure is placed on the bladder. It typically happens during an activity that increases abdominal pressure such as coughing, laughing, sneezing, exercising or lifting.
SUI occurs when the pelvic floor muscles are weakened so that the urethra cannot stay closed under stress. Common contributing factors include childbirth, menopause, overweight and chronic coughing.
Emsella stimulates and strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, causing them to contract frequently in a way that cannot be done nearly so efficiently or effectively with standard pelvic floor (Kegel) exercises. The treatment is painless and is carried out while you sit on the chair fully clothed. It may also help female sexual dysfunction.
In women over the age of 35, some degree of urinary incontinence affects around 40%, often with significant effects on quality of life. SUI is the commonest cause of female incontinence, accounting for about half of cases. Thus, about 1 in 5 women experience SUI and surveys indicate that many suffer in silence. You don’t need to do that.
